This safari gives you the opportunity to visit the most important national parks in Uganda for primates viewing which are Bwindi, and Kibale National Parks, do a lot of birding and game drives and encounter wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This will include a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL.

On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be met and greeted by our driver guide who will then transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe for briefing about your 7 days primates safari. Relax for the whole evening at the hotel or do a nature walk in Entebbe Botanical gardens depending on your arrival time. Dinner & overnight at Victoria royal hotel. F/B.

 

DAY 2: ENTEBBE TO KIBALE NP

After breakfast, we will embark on a journey to kibale NP which is approximately a 6 hours drive. Drive via Kampala Masaka road with a lunch enroute at the Dutchess hotel and restaurant fort portal. We shall continue to kibale NP for check in at the lodge. Relax for dinner & overnight at Kibale Forest Camp F/B.

 

DAY 3: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING & SWAMP WALK

Early breakfast, go for briefing at kanyanchu and then hike into the forest with a game ranger in search for the chimpanzees with our packed lunch. The dense forests give an opportunity to spot birds like the western nicator, little greenbul, yellow rupped tinker bird, black caped Apalis, African grey parrot, red chested owlet, collared Apalis, black bee eater, just to mention but a few. Retreat from the activity, eat your packed lunch and later start on a guided walk in Bigodi wetland for birding, view sitatunga antelopes and also a visit to the crafts centre. Return to the lodge in the evening and be entertained by a cultural group with their fascinating cultural dances. Dinner & overnight at Kibale Forest Camp. F/B.

 

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH

After our breakfast we will depart Kibale for queen arriving in time for lunch. We will check in at the lodge, enjoy a lunch then relax. Do an evening game drive which will reward us with a chance to spot wild game such as warthogs, elephants, waterbucks, etc. return to the lodge for dinner & overnight Enganzi lodge. F/B

 

DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy breakfast and then head for a thrilling morning game drive in search for the lions in action, a variety of antelopes, buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, etc. Retreat from the drive then return to the lodge for lunch. Your driver will drive you to the lake for a boat cruise along the kazinga channel which connects Lakes Edward and George. The 2 hours cruise rewards you with a chance to view more wild game, water birds, hippos, crocodiles, etc. return to the lodge for dinner & overnight at Enganzi lodge. F/B

 

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO BWINDI VIA ISHASHA

After breakfast we drive southwest of Queen Elizabeth Park with an enroute game drive in search for the tree climbing lions which lounge in the tree branches enjoying the sun. Continue with our drive passing through the Ankole grassland; view the long horned Ankole cattle along the road as we proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park home to mountain gorillas. It is estimated half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –300 live within Bwindi boundaries. Dinner & overnight at Buhoma Haven lodge. F/B.

 

DAY 7: GORILLA TRACKING- BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast and take a short transfer to Bwindi NP headquarters where you will meet up with excellent local guides/rangers and trackers, who will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. Thereafter, hike into the forest with your packed lunch. The activity is tiresome as it can take from 1 to 8 hours and climb to altitudes in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. Cameras and plenty of fast speed films are recommended. It can rain at a few minutes’ notice; hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including zip lock bags for cameras and film. It is important to take plenty of water. Return to the camp/lodge and free afternoon/evening to relax. Dinner & overnight at Buhoma Haven lodge. F/B.

 

DAY 8: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE

After our breakfast we shall embark on a long drive back to Entebbe. We shall pass villages with views of traditional homes, make stops at Mpambire royal drum makers, kayabwe at the Equator for both photographs and shopping. A lunch enroute, continue as we enjoy beautiful sceneries arriving in Entebbe in the evening. Dinner & overnight at Victoria Royal Hotel. F/B.

 

DAY 9: DEPARTURE

Wake up for breakfast, later meet your driver who will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home filled with beautiful memories of the safari and the pearl of Africa experience. Requirements for gorilla tracking. END OF SAFARI.
