Murchison falls is the largest park and became one of Uganda’s first national parks in 1952. It’s famously known for its roaring and thunderous waterfalls where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge into the devil’s cauldron. The river banks are crowded with crocodiles, hippos, water bucks and buffalos. Other wildlife include; lions, elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees plus a wide range of birds. It’s characterized by woodland, Savannah and riverside vegetation. Kibale forest national park is home to a variety of bird species and a diversity of primates like the uncommon l’hoest’s monkey and the endangered red colobus, among others. There are also other mammals like the bush pigs, buffalos and duiks, though rarely seen.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be warmly received by our company driver / guide who will transfer you to Murchison falls national park while briefing you about your 5 days safari driving via Masindi-Kampala road. On the way we will have a one hour lunch break at kabalega diners. Then proceed to Murchison falls National Park with an enroute game drive as we wind up our day. Proceed to the lodge for check in, dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge.FB

 

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, embark on an enroute game drive, where you will spot members of the cat family plus other wildlife including antelopes, elephants, Uganda kobs, giraffes and baboons to mention but a few as we proceed for ferry crossing, thereafter we hike to the top of the falls where beautiful sights and moments will be enjoyed to the fullest. At the top of the falls you will find your driver waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on the Nile River to the bottom of the falls, this relaxing boat cruise of about 3hours takes you through a thrilling sight of the wild game along the river banks like the Mighty Elephants, Girraffes,Hippos, Nile Croccodiles,and lots of other animals that come by the River bank to drink water under the scorching sun. The cruise rewards you with an opportunity to view the aquatics at close range, return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight at Murchison River lodge. FB

 

DAY 3:TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Wake up to an early breakfast and embark on your long journey to Kibale Forest National Park. You will have lunch en-route in Fort Portal town and you may opt to visit Amabere ganyinamwiru stalagmites site, waterfalls, caves and the crater lakes. Proceed with your journey to Kibale arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at kibale forest camp.

 

DAY 4: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING

After an early morning breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing and proceed for chimpanzee tracking. This can take you half a day. There are other primates in the area like the L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals include forest elephants, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Enjoy your packed Lunch after the tracking and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other 137 species. There is also an array of butterflies. Later return for dinner and overnight at kibale forest camp.

 

DAY 5: BACK TO ENTEBBE

Enjoy breakfast depart Kibale for Entebbe with lunch en-route in Mityana town. You will then make an enroute stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Proceed to Entebbe for drop off at the airport for your flight back home or to any agreed place
