At igongo cultural centre we shall have a tasty lunch.
After lunch we shall proceed through bushenyi, ishaka and have a view of the tea plantations at Igara. As we continue through Ishasha we shall spot the tree climbing lions and some elephants, continue to kihihi then to buhoma a section of Bwindi where we shall check in at the lodge which will be already reserved for you. BwindiWakeup for an early morning breakfast, report to the park headquarters at 7:30am for briefing. You will enter the thick forest under instructions by a ranger guide. The trekking can take from 1 to 8 hours and involves exhaustive climbing, hiking the steep and slippery forested landscapes, trekking through creepers and undergrowth. Although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. Cameras and plenty of fast speed films are recommended. It can rain at a few minutes’ notice; hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including zip lock bags for cameras and film. It is important to take plenty of water. This exercise is a unique experience though tiresome but it depends on the time taken to locate a group or family of these shy giants. Retire for the day; relax as we prepare to travel back to Entebbe the following day.
