DAY 1: ENTEBBE

ENTEBBE Arrival at Entebbe international Airport. You will be warmly received by our English speaking driver guide and then transfer you to a hotel. Check in at the hotel then relax. In the evening you will be met by a team from Zzike tropical safaris for briefing about your 21 days Ugandan safari. Dinner and overnight at Victoria Royal Hotel. H/B

 

DAY 2: ENTEBBE – JINJA

Wakeup for early breakfast, then transfer from the hotel to the pier to catch the 7:30am boat to Ngamba Island. This island is home to orphaned species, you will meet the chimpanzees’ caretakers who interpret the lifestyle of these creatures to visitors. Viewing of the chimps is at 8am or 5pm when they are feeding. We will return at 12:00 noon then head for Jinja. We shall enjoy a tasty lunch in a restaurant in Kampala, and then continue with our journey to Jinja via Mukono. We will make a stop to view Sezibwa falls which is 1.5km off Jinja highway in Mukono district. Sezibwa is best known for its attractive surroundings and cultural attachments. Our next stop will be at the only rainforest in the central region of Uganda, Mabira forest. A variety of bird species, tree species, can be seen plus forest monkeys which live in this forest. We will continue with our journey arriving in Jinja in the evening. Check in to the lodge & relax. Dinner and overnight at Nile resort hotel. F/B

 

DAY 3: JINJA.

In the morning after breakfast you will head for a boat cruise to the source of the world’s longest river, Nile. This adventure gives you the opportunity to view countless bird species and also the Speke monument where John Speke stood as the first European who discovered the source of the Nile. You will have lunch at your respective accommodation and in the afternoon go for the breathtaking River rafting. This activity is amazing and rewarding and the source of the Nile is the best spot for river rafting and kayaking in Uganda. Other optional activities include; Quad biking, Kayaking, Bungee jumping and Horseback riding. Dinner and overnight at Nile resort hotel. F/B.

 

DAY 4: JINJA- SIPI FALLS.

Depart Jinja for Sipi falls after breakfast. We will drive via Mbale Tirinyi road for approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival we will head for a guided walk to the sipi falls. It has 3 waterfalls positioned at the foothills of Mount. Elgon which gives an adventurous and spectacular view for photos. We will take pictures then after return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a guided interactive community walk, coffee tours and nature walks. Return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River lodge. F/B

 

DAY 5: SIPI – PIAN UPE

After breakfast you will depart sipi falls to Pian Upe wildlife reserve. Here you will be rewarded with cultural and wildlife adventures. You will view a lot of savannah birds, and animal species as this game reserve has a lot to offer to the tourists. Check in to the lodge for lunch and after lunch go for a community tour and learn about the traditional marriages and dances of the people who live around this area. Return in the evening, relax around the camp fire. Dinner & Overnight at UWA Bandas. F/B

 

DAY 6: PIAN UPE – KOTIDO

Early breakfast then depart Pian upe for Kotido. After a 3 hours 40 mins drive, we shall arrive in kotido. We will continue to Kaabong district to Mt. Morungole to visit the most remote tribe in Uganda, the Ik tribe. You will explore their traditional homes and cultural setting, interact with the locals and learn about their social and cultural behaviours. Hiking to the Ik villages is a rare opportunity. In the evening you join the adults on camp fire interact with local bee keepers, get to know their lifestyle. You will camp around their homes or gardens for Dinner & overnight F/B.

 

DAY 7: KOTIDO TO KIDEPO

In the morning we will transfer to Kidepo arriving in the evening for check in at the lodge. Relax for dinner & overnight at Kidepo savannah lodge lodge. F/B

 

DAY 8: KIDEPO

After an early morning breakfast we will take a thrilling game drive in the savannah plains of Kidepo which supports countless numbers of wildlife which include; cheetahs, spotted hyenas, buffalos, elands, striped jackals, elephants not forgetting the lion. Return to the lodge for lunch. Relax as you prepare for the evening game drive looking for more wild game which you might have missed in the morning drive; if chance strikes we might see the leopards. Retire for the day. Dinner & overnight at Kidepo savannah lodge.F/B.

 

DAY 9: KIDEPO TO MURCHISON FALLS

After a cup of coffee or tea, we will go for a game drive to the Narus valley to find the same animals and maybe those that you might have missed the previous day. You will have an opportunity to view the unspoilt nature of the park. We will then embark on a journey to Murchison falls national park through Kitgum and Gulu where we will make a stop for lunch. We will continue to Murchison through Pakwach and Paraa arriving in the evening with a game drive as we proceed to the lodge for check in at the lodge. DAY 10: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Early morning we will drive to catch the ferry, cross to the northern bank of the Nile for a morning game drive. We will have a chance to spot the bushbucks, spotted hyenas, elephants, cape buffalos, oribis, Rhod’schild giraffe and maybe the leopard if chance strikes. In the afternoon we will take a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The Nile here gets calm at the base of the falls; we stop a few meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” where we shall encounter herds of elephants, aquatics like the hippos and crocs plus countless bird species like; hornbills, cormorants, pelican bee-eater, goliath’s heron, etc. after the boat cruise you will hike to the top of the falls for a close view of the beautiful scenery that forms the park. Here your driver will be waiting to drive you back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Fort Murchison Lodge. F/B

 

DAY 11:MURCHISON – KIBALE

Depart Murchison after our breakfast for kibale national park via Hoima. Drive through the landscape that forms the western Albertine rift valley. We shall make stops to relax as we sight-see traditional homesteads and farms. Enjoy our lunch on the way then continue with our journey arriving in the evening. You will check in to the lodge and relax the whole evening while wait for dinner and preparation for the next day’s activities. Dinner & overnight at Kibale forest camp F/B.

 

DAY 12: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Kibale national park is commonly known for its excellent diversity of primates. In the morning after an early breakfast you will go for briefing at kanyanchu and then start a guided trek in search for the chimpanzees with the park rangers. The dense forests give an opportunity to spot birds like the western nicator, little greenbul, yellow rupped tinker bird, black caped Apalis, African grey parrot, red chested owlet, collared Apalis, black bee eater, just to mention but a few. We will return for lunch and in the afternoon visit the crater lakes region which present beautiful scenery. Return to the lodge in the evening and be entertained by a cultural group with their fascinating cultural dances. Dinner and overnight at kibale forest camp. F/B.

 

DAY 13: KIBALE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

In the morning after a heavy breakfast, we will embark on a drive via Mbarara – Kasese road for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes arriving for lunch and check in at a lodge in Queen Elizabeth. Relax and in the evening encounter a thrilling evening game drive. You will view animals like the elephants, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs, etc. Retire and return to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner & overnight at Bush lodge F/B.

 

DAY 14: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After an early cup tea/coffee you will go for a game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail, you will view herds of buffalos, kobs, warthogs, water bucks, elephants, plus a lot of bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast; relax as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon you will be driven to the lake to enjoy a boat ride along the Kazinga channel where you will encounter more wild game at the banks enjoy viewing the aquatics at a close encounter. After the 2 hours boat cruise you will return to the lodge and relax the whole evening. Dinner & overnight at at Bush lodge. F/B.

 

DAY 15: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KABALE

After breakfast at the lodge, depart Queen Elizabeth for kabale. Drive via kabale – Mbarara road and Ntungamo- Katunguru road which is approximately 4 hours, arriving at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon for check in and lunch at the lodge relax the whole evening. Dinner and an overnight at Arcadia lodge Lake Bunyonyi. F/B

 

DAY 16: KABALE

After a heavy breakfast, take a boat ride as we tour Islands on Lake Bunyonyi. The Lake has over 35 islands, it’s also known as the lake of many little birds, so expect to do bird watching. It features over 200 bird species such as weaver birds, egrets, herons, grey crowned crane, etc. Return back for lunch and in the afternoon go for a nature walk to the local pygmy community. Walk through the different villages exploring the unspoilt cultures of tribes in Uganda. There are many interesting activities you may opt for during your stay in Kabale. Dinner & overnight Arcadia lodge Lake Bunyonyi. F/B.

 

DAY 17: KABALE – BWINDI

After breakfast you will take a guided canoe ride exploring more of the Lake’s Islands in search for more bird species. You will later return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we set off for a 2 hours 15 minutes drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Park via the Kabale Kisoro road. In Buhoma a section of Bwindi, we shall check in at the lodge which will be already reserved for you. Relax as you prepare for the adventurous Gorilla tracking the following day. Dinner & overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge F/B.

 

DAY 18: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, which feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the park’s many tree species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered species. The park’s dense forests are home to many butterflies and birds. Wakeup for an early morning breakfast, report to the park headquarters at 7:30am for briefing. You will enter the thick forest under instructions by a ranger guide. This exercise is a unique experience though tiresome but it depends on the time taken to locate a group or family of these shy giants. Return to the lodge for lunch and later walk through the village to explore the life style of the locals, from medicines made out of the forest trees, local brewing and traditional performances. It’s sociable and worth an experience. Retire for the day; relax as you prepare for the next day. Dinner & overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge F/B.

 

DAY 19: BWINDI – LAKE MBURO

In the morning after your breakfast we shall embark on a 5 hours 30 minutes drive via Kabale Mbarara road to Lake Mburo. We shall make a stop to have lunch at a restaurant in Mbarara arriving at Lake Mburo in the afternoon. After check in relaxation, we will go for a 2 hours boat trip which will reward us with an encounter to the aquatics like the hippos and crocodiles, water birds and many animals which gather to drink water from this Lake. Return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at Arcadia lodge. F/B.

 

DAY 20: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK & TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE

Early morning after a cup of tea/coffee we will go for a morning game drive where we will encounter game species like buffalos, warthogs, impalas, zebras, topis, water bucks, antelopes and a variety of birds. You will retire from the activity and return to the lodge for breakfast. After an hour’s rest you will go for a guided walk to the “salt lick” water point where many animals gather to lick the salty soils around the water point. Retire after 1 and a half hour from this activity, return to the lodge for lunch and then pack our bags for the return to Entebbe. We shall drive via Mbarara Masaka road and then to kasanje for approximately 4 hours, to Buwaya where we shall wait for the ferry to cross back to Entebbe to the hotel to relax as you wait for dinner and overnight at Victoria Royal Hotel. F/B.

 

DAY 21: ENTEBBE – MABAMBA SWAMP

After breakfast the driver will pick you from the hotel to Nakiwogo landing site where you will ride by canoe through the mabamba swamp in search for the rare shoe bill and other bird species including the papyrus gonolek, blue swallow, white winged warbler and many more. We will ride back to Entebbe after the encounter with the rare species. Transfer for a farewell picnic lunch in Entebbe Botanical gardens and then drop off to the Airport depending on your flight schedule where our safari ENDS.
