10 Days Best of Uganda Safari

10 Days Fort Portal, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the crater lakes walk, beautiful landscapes, cultural history of kingdom ship, homesteads, amazing wildlife, primates and birds.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Arrive at Entebbe airport, meet and greet. Transfer (approx 10 minutes drive) to the hotel in Entebbe for an Overnight at Victoria Royal Hotel.HB

 

DAY 2: ENTEBBE– FORT PORTAL

Breakfast and depart towards Fort Portal (5 hours 30 mins approx.), lunch in Fort Portal. After we are transferred to the point where we start a walk in the crater lakes belt, surrounded by a beautiful landscape our guide will explain us the cultural history and the background of the Toro Kingdom, we will have time to visit a homestead also, continue to the lodge and check in. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp (B/L/D)

 

DAY 3: FORT PORTAL/ KIBALE FOREST

Early transfer to Kibale Forest NP (approx. 35 minutes), where all morning is dedicated to search for chimpanzees and other primate including: I’hoestes, red colobus, red tailed and gray– cheeked mangabey Lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, we do a walk to Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. It features 8 primate species, numerous interesting mammals, over 200 bird species, many reptiles, and countless tree species, shrubs and vines. Return to the lodge for an overnight. DAY 4: KIBALE FOREST – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth NP / Peninsula sector (approx. 3 ½ hours), this drive passes through Fort Portal and then south along the Eastern length of Rwenzori Mountains, with the hope of viewing the glaciated peaks. We gently descend into The Great African Rift Valley and Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kyambura Game Lodge situated at the eastern edge of Queen Elizabeth NP in the western with fantastic views of the park and Rwenzori Mountains. Check in at the lodge. Lunch and after go for an afternoon game drive in the craters. Return to the lodge for an overnight. Dinner and overnight at Enganzi lodge (B/L/D)

 

DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK (KASENYI AREA & PENINSULA AREA)

In the early morning we do a game drive in Kasenyi area, within Queen Elizabeth NP, on a look out for the lions, buffalos, elephants, and large numbers of Uganda Kobs and other antelopes. After we will go back to the lodge for breakfast, and relax until lunch time. In the afternoon we will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (approx. 2 hours), to look out for the hippos, great herds of buffaloes, and lots of water birds. Return to the lodge in time for the sunset, watching the game as we drive back. Dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge (B/L/D)

 

DAY 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK /ISHASHA

Check out on this morning after breakfast we drive to Ishasha (2 ½ hours approx.), which is in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Do a game drive looking for the tree climbing lions and other game like; herds of buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, etc. Check in and lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon we will go for second a game drive in the Edward flats. Return to the camp for overnight. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha jungle Lodge. (B/L/D)

 

DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK/ISHASHA – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we depart to Bwindi Impenetrable NP (Buhoma sector), home of the endangered mountain gorilla. The driving time will be approx. 2 hours. Have lunch and later in the afternoon go for a cultural walk to the village; learn the culture and ways of the people in this area, local brewing and distilling processes, food preparation, cultural performances, etc. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner & overnight. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge (Buhoma sector) (B/L/D) Or Gorilla Forest Camp (B/L/D)

 

DAY 8: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK/BUHOMA

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Bwindi NP headquarters where you will meet up with excellent local guides/rangers and trackers, who will brief you about the gorilla trekking activity, the behavior of the endangered species, the do’s and don’ts while in encounter with these giants. Thereafter, hike into the forest with your packed lunch. Return to the camp/lodge and laze the whole afternoon and evening since gorilla tracking is very tiresome. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge (Buhoma sector) (B/L/D) Or Gorilla Forest Camp (B/L/D)

 

DAY 9: BWINDI NATIONAL PARK – ENTEBBE

Breakfast and check out, we shall start our journey back. We shall make a stop for lunch in Mbarara. At the equator we shall stop for the experience of both southern and northern hemispheres and photographs then continue with our journey through Kampala arriving at the hotel in the evening. Dinner & overnight at Victoria Royal hotel Entebbe.

 

DAY 10: DEPARTURE

After a full night’s rest, you will wake up to a tasty breakfast and later you will transfer to the botanical gardens for a farewell lunch with a team from Zzike Tropical Safaris. Later, transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
